CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2015 Napa Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RUTHERFORD RANCH |
Very deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, fairly intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, cedary finish. A popular, ready-to-drink, fairly attractive, commercial style. Unfortunately, one sample had tca cork taint. TONY ASPLER / 89.5-points - Dense purple colour; cedary, blackcurrant nose with vanilla oak notes; medium to full-bodied, dry, well-structured, juicy, plum and blackcurrant flavours with lively acidity. |

Rutherford Ranch is dedicated to sustainability and prefers to keep their vines safe from pests by wisely encouraging owls and other natural predators in the vineyards rather than using harsh chemicals. The 2015 vintage was considered excellent in Napa Valley, so expect great things from this wine. Look for ripe currant, black cherry, dark chocolate and spearmint, and pair the wine with rack of lamb. |
