LIANO SANGIOVESE/CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014 IGT Rubicone |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
UMBERTO CESARI |
Very deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, baked plum-cherry puree nose with some cedar-sandalwood, faint gingerbread notes. Off dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, very spicy, faintly gingery, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, sandalwood-tinged, marzipan-tinged finish. This SECOND REPEAT blend has 13.5% alcohol and 11 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L:5011/1 on the back label. Consistently underwhelming especially for the price. The 2014 (*+) was last released on December 9, 2017 at $27.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Hints of oak spice and mocha are layered with light, supple tannins and flavors of plumped cherry and fig cake in this well-knit, medium-bodied red. Elegant, with herb and smoke accents on the chewy finish. Drink now through 2022. Score - 89 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, 2017) |
