CHÂTEAU GODARD BELLEVUE 2010 AC Côtes de Bordeaux - Francs
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Deep intense purple red colour. Very slightly spicy, ripe plum nose with some attractive cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, very gently cedary, very faintly herbal, fairly high acid finish. Contrary to the Vintages Catalogue note, the actual blend according to the label is 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc (the same as the previous 2011) with 5 g/L residual sugar. Even better than the recommended 2011 (**) with 87.5-points that was released on September 3, 2016 at $14.95. CSPC 426049

TASTING NOTE: The Côtes de Bordeaux - Francs appellation sits on the Right Bank and is where this blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon was grown. The wine is maturing nicely and showing fresh plum and cherry, tobacco, leather and cedar, with spicy and meaty notes. This is outstanding value from the great 2010 vintage. Savour through 2020 with smoked meat sandwiches or charcuterie and aged cheeses. (Vintages panel, Sept. 2017) Price $ 14.95
