D'OR GIGONDAS 2015 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DOMAINE DU GRAPILLON |
Fairly deep intense purple colour. Slightly sweetish, cooked, spicy, baked plum-cherry nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, harmonious, spicy, slightly stewed, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, sandalwood finish. This ready-to-drink blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah has 15% alcohol with lot number LotG on the front label. Much better than the 2014 (*/*+) released on April 1, 2017 at $32.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Rich and chocolaty, the full-bodied 2015 Gigondas, off of the estate's sandier soils, displays plummy fruit and velvety tannins. Already approachable, it should continue to drink well for up to a decade. Score - 91 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017) |
