| Very youthful extremely deep intense purple colour. Gently cedary, complex, intense, slightly spicy, baked ripe plum nose with lots of sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, baked ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, high acid, gently cedary finish. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-LCB303170 on the capsule. | TASTING NOTE: Bodega Otazu is situated on a 12th-century feudal estate. The property includes an art gallery and a winery museum as well as a remarkable French-style cellar that dates from 1840. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot is silky, with fine tannins and oodles of still-fresh dark fruit. Black pepper spice, tobacco, earth and vanilla round out the complex package. Beginning to show hints of its age, yet still young at heart. (Vintages panel, July 2017) |
