ESPINO CARMENÈRE 2015 Maipo Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
WILLIAM FEVRE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Peppery, tight, dusty plum nose with some very spicy, artificial, floral notes. Dry, medium bodied, very firm, dusty, leafy, strident, dried plum-apple flavours with a very crisp, herbal finish. Even with 13.7% alcohol this very herbal Carmenere seems unripe and inaccessible. Has 4 g/L residual sugar and with lot number LE36 on the back label. The 2014 (*+) was released on September 3, 2016 at $15.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Blackberry, blueberry and stone aromas follow through to a full body, spice and fresh herbs at the finish. Very typical carmenere yet shows some edge. Drink now. Score - 91 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 29, 2017) |
