Very deep intense purple colour. Spicy, cedary, slightly hot, intense, plum-cherry nose with some faintly reductive, burnt toast and licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, spicy, baked plum-cherry-apple flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, toast-tinged, high acid finish. This blend of 55% Négrette, 20% Syrah, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. The 2013 (**) was released on April 29, 2017 at $14.95. CSPC 354134

TASTING NOTE: A blend of 55% Négrette, 20% Syrah, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that shows off the rustic meaty tones of Négrette nicely. Good depth and concentration, but with a seam of fresh acidity that keeps the overall mouthfeel lithe. Ripe dark fruit with complex notes of smoke, dried herbs, spice and fertile earth. This has the tannins for steak, but the vibrancy of the acidity makes it a versatile choice. Try with spiced sausage pastas or a beef stew. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2018) Price $ 14.95
