VRANEC 2015 Tikves
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer STOBI
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, warm ripe baked plum nose with some faintly herbal, mulberry-cedar notes. Dry, quite well structured, spicy, plummy, ripe red apple flavours with a very crisp, somewhat cedary finish. Vranac, a native Macedonian grape usually produces easy-to-drink crowd-pleasing reds usually without much complexity. This one has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L22-17 26.10.17 on the back label. A REPEAT of the 2015 (**) that was last released on November 25, 2017 at $12.95. TASTING NOTE: Pours a distinctly deeply-hued purplish colour - a hallmark of vranec. The palate is deeply flavoured, bold and lively. Nicely balanced with no notable oak. Just shy of full-bodied with black fruit and intensely plummy flavour. Very good value. Score - 87 (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, Nov. 2017) Price $ 12.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
