CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014 Napa Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BLACK STALLION
Very deep intense purple colour. Fairly intense, spicy, slightly cedary, ripe plum puree nose with some tropical fruit cocktail notes. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, very crisp, gently cedary, somewhat spicy, tropical fruit cocktail finish. This ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. Having said that, I have to admit that this fruity style of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is not what I would choose to drink certainly at the price. The 2013 (**+) was released on September 3, 2016 at $34.95. CSPC 256768

Black Stallion Estate Winery is the 2017 recipient of the International Wine & Spirit Competition's USA Wine Producer of the Year Trophy. TASTING NOTE: Spicy, with clove and juicy black-cherry flavors, this approachable, densely packed wine is full of fruit and integrated power, yet surprisingly balanced. Soft chocolate and tobacco notes accent the fruit as a long finish wraps up the experience. Score - 90 (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2017) Price $ 39.95
