CHIANTI CLASSICO 2013 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LORNANO |
Deep intense dark red colour. Somewhat mature, slightly spicy, sandalwood-tinged, dried plum nose. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, intense, dried plum flavours with a lingering, crisp, herbal red licrorice-sandalwood-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L31217 on the back label. This is decent Chianti Classico and worth drinking at the $17.95 price but sadly the tasting note quoted in the Vintages Catalogue with 97-points is simply a case of wine fiction. |

TASTING NOTE: (Translated from the Italian): It has been a long time since a Chianti has so appealed to the senses. Gorgeous with rich and fleshy purplish fruit and an intense colour. Silky with pure blackberry and a vein of sweet spices. Careful attention to detail has resulted in no loss of freshness to oxidation and no loss of purity or character through the winemaking process. Floral notes combine with wild forest touches. Creamy, warm and long. Exceptional harmony. One of the best Chianti Classico. Score - 97 (lucamaroni.com, 2018) |
