CROSSBARN |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, fairly complex, juicy, plummy, cedary nose with some tropical fruit cocktail notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, harmonious, spicy, slightly baked, ripe plum-cherry-cedar-vanilla flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid finish. This blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 89-points - Lightly cedary, spicy plum bouquet; dry, full-bodied, blackcurrant and plum flavours; quite tight and firm with grainy tannins. Will improve with 2 - 3 years of bottle age. The 2013 (***) with 90-points was released on December 10, 2016 at $69.95. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley opens with spicy cassis and blueberry tart notions plus underlying bay leaves, cedar, pencil lead and smoked meat notes. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and packed with black berry and spice box flavor layers, it has a firm backbone of grainy tannins and instills plenty of freshness on the finish. Drink Date: 2017-2026. Score - 92 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017) |
