Extremely deep intense purple colour. Fairly juicy, spicy, baked ripe plum-cherry nose with lots of cedary notes. Slightly off dry, medium to medium-full bodied, smooth, fairly complex, spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, bright, cedary, slightly raisiny, fairly high acid finish. This big bucks, slightly sweetish, juicy, commercial blend of blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Charbono was acquired by Constellation Brands (Arterra in Canada) in 2016 and has 15.2% alcohol and now 8 g/L residual sugar. The 2015 (***) with 90-points was released on October 28, 2017 at $49.95. TONY ASPLER / 89-points - Cedary, spicy, black plum nose; full-bodied, sweetish plum with earthy, raisiny notes. CSPC 104299

The label for this wine features The Prisoner, an etching by Francisco de Goya made in 1807. The wine itself, a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Charbono, is no less bold and striking, and has become a Vintages customer favourite. Expect a bountiful statement of cherry, fig, dark chocolate and clove with lifted raspberry and pomegranate notes. Price $ 49.95
