INDIAN WELLS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014 Columbia Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHATEAU STE. MICHELLE
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, baked black cherry nose with lots of cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, intense, gently maturing, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, cedary, fairly high acid, somewhat smoky, faint cassis-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 16081 on the lower part of the glass bottle. With only 5.4 g/L total acidity, it is probably nearing its peak of drinkability and is quite versatile with wide appeal. CSPC 55764

TASTING NOTE: During the growing season, Washington actually sees an average of two hours more sunlight per day than California, and Wahluke Slope, where 40% of the grapes for this wine were sourced, is one of its warmest regions. Combine that with a picture-perfect growing season in 2014 and you have a juicy, delicious wine full of dark fruit, mocha and dark chocolate, with notes of coffee and vanilla from the 14 months in 51% new American and French oak.
