Medium deep red colour. Slightly spicy, slightly dusty, old style, dried plum-apple nose with some sandalwood and red licorice notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied albeit quite well structured, somewhat spicy, fairly dusty, dried plum-cherry-apple flavours with a light, somewhat terse, sandalwood-tinged finish. Old school style. One bottle had a hint of tca. This REPEAT has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L7A195 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: Menthol, dark berry, violet and cake spice aromas lead the way on this striking wine. It's still young and nervous, with tight tannins, but it also shows black cherry, white pepper, clove and mocha. Firm, velvety tannins and bright acidity provide the backbone. Drink 2018-2027. Score - 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2015) |
