PERLE BY ROSELINE ROUGE 2015 AP Côtes de Provence
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROSELINE
Bright medium deep ruby purple colour. Shy, slightly spicy, bright, plum-apple nose. Dry, medium-light to light bodied, lightly structured, slightly spicy, fresh apple-plum flavours with a crisp unoaked finish. An OK quaffer. This entry-level blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 88-points - Spicy, plum nose with a light note of wood bark; medium-bodied, dry, plummy flavour with balancing acidity; a touch austere and restrained for the vintage and region. TASTING NOTE: Provence is best known for rosé, but the red wines crafted here are nothing to blush about. This one, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, is round and balanced with expressive smoky black fruit. It is, perhaps, more delicately articulated than other Cabernet-based wines, but don't mistake that for weakness - this will be a great choice for grilled lamb, ribs or steak.
