MARSANNAY 2014 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

CHANSON PÈRE & FILS |
Medium deep red colour. Peppery, reductive, fairly intense, stewed apple-cherry-plum nose with some beetroot-crancherry notes. Very dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, spicy, slightly peppery, lightish, slightly baked plum-apple-crancherry flavours with a lingering, high acid finish. Has 13% alcohol with lot number L601B4C B120116 This northern CdN village just south of Dijon is probably best known for its 100% Pinot Noir rose (it has never appeared here). Meanwhile in 18 years, we have only had 19 Marsannays (red and whites) hit the Vintages shelves. There is an avalanche of 7 Marsannays at the LCBO today. Unfortunately, this one isn’t a detour.

TASTING NOTE: Mint, graphite and cherry notes combine in this silky red. Firms up as the succulent fruit remains saturated and resonant on the long finish. Best from 2018 through 2029. Score - 91 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, May 31, 2017) |
