CELLARS CHARDONNAY 2014 Napa Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
NAPA |
Bright medium straw colour. Intense, rather cedary, bright, spicy, lemon meringue nose. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, spicy, very mature lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, somewhat toasty, cedary finish. Tasted twice. The first bottle was totally oxidized. I am not happy with this batch. This THIRD REPEAT has 13.9% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L267522-6 on the back label. The 2014 (**+) was last released on April 15, 2017 at $28.95 (lot number L264521-6 ). You can safely ignore the TWO-YEAR-OLD 92-point tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. |

TASTING NOTE: Bright medium light gold color. Bright, toasty, floral aromas and flavors of lemon curd on toast, pineapple tart, white toffee, and fancy soap with a soft, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a tingling, complex, carefree mango-lime relish, spicy nougat, cream, and mint finish with silky tannins and moderate oak. A crisp, refreshing chardonnay sipper. Gold Medal. Exceptional. Score - 92 (tastings.com, Feb. 18, 2016) |
