VIGNES BLANCHES 2015 IGP Val de Loire |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DOMAINE DE LA FRUITIÈRE |
Mature bright light yellow colour. Fairly intense, spicy, honeyed, beeswax nose with some bright, lemon-apple nose. Fairly dry, medium to medium-light bodied albeit quite well structured, spicy, bright, maturing, ripe apple-melon-lemon flavours with a lingering, fairly tangy, mineral-tinged, unoaked finish. Ready-to-drink - it s/b great with seafood and poultry. In contrast to the note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue, this ever-changing blend of Melon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Folle Blanche has 12% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. A perfect by-the-glass wine for licensees. |

TASTING NOTE: A blend dominated by Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay produces a crisp, herbal wine that has the background of a more creamy texture. From 20-year-old vines planted on granite soil, it has a tight, mineral edge as well as concentrated apple, citrus and fresh melon fruits. Drink now. Score - 88 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Sept. 1, 2016) |
