SINGLE VINEYARD ESTATE RIESLING 2016 Eden Valley, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PEWSEY VALE
Bright medium straw colour. Refined, very slightly spicy, very fragrant, ripe apple nose with some mineral notes and a touch of lime. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, harmonious, nicely structured, slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, intense, tangy, fresh ripe melon-apple flavours with a lingering, crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. Try with a lobster bisque. Has 12% alcohol and only 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.7088 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. A terrific dry Riesling that can easily last for many years. A perfect by-the-glass wine for licensees. The recommended best buy 2011 (***) was released on November 24, 2012 at $19.95. CSPC 686600

TASTING NOTE: The 2016 Riesling opens with notes of chalk dust and wet pebbles over a core of lime juice, yuzu zest and lemon grass. Light-bodied and bone dry with a racy line of acidity cutting through the intense citrus and mineral flavors, it finishes with great freshness and length. Drink 2017-2028.
