| Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, expansive, ripe, caramel-driven, intense, cassis and plum fruit with some vanilla-cedar notes. Sweet, medium-full bodied, dense, well structured, spicy, very faintly honeyed, intense, ripe cassis-raspberry-plum flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid finish. Has 10.5% alcohol and 100 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 92-points / TRY - Spicy, mulberry and vanilla oak on the nose; full-bodied, intense, sweet blackcurrant and blackberry flavours kept in perfect balanced by fresh acidity and tannins to give the wine shape. |

| TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Vintage Port is a blend of 60% Touriga Franca with 20% Touriga Nacional and small dollops of other grapes. It comes in with 97 grams per liter of residual sugar. In this tough year, this is pretty nice, one of my happiest finds in Port. The fruit is wonderful (which is more than many can say) and it is simply delicious on opening, if seeming to lack a bit of power. If it is not the most concentrated or powerful VP ever, the next day it showed more seriously, lacking the initial flamboyance and fruitiness, but finishing with focus and precision. It has classic Port flavors. It adds great aromatics and a juicy, lifted finish. This should be approachable relatively young and it will be interesting to see if it is a long-term ager, but it is still Port and it should hold reasonably well.
