FREAKSHOW CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014 Lodi
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MICHAEL DAVID
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Somewhat sweetish, very spicy, stewed black cherry nose with some cedary mocha-chocolate notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, mature, fairly intense, baked plum-cherry flavours with a cedary, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. This sweetish, oaky, juicy, 797-case REPEAT has 14.5% alcohol and now 6 g/L residual sugar. It is simply not my style of Cabernet Sauvignon and, despite its popularity, I am sticking with my 85-point score from when this REPEAT was last released on April 1, 2017 at $29.95. TONY ASPLER / 87.5-points - Cedary, vanilla oak and cherry nose with a light floral grape note; full-bodied, sweet jammy fruit with a smoky note and a firm tannic finish. It appears on the agent-paid-for advertising spot on the back cover of the Vintages Catalogue. In the US it is readily available for under $16. CSPC 405175

It's bold but complex and will be a lot of fun to drink with red meat. Editors' Choice. Score - 91 (Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2017) Price $ 29.95
