Deep intense purple colour. Intense, very complex, slightly spicy, ripe plum nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, very well structured, dense, slightly spicy, intense, dried black berries and ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, lifted finish. Made from selected Tempranillo (aka Aragonés), this spent 17 months in new Bordeaux barrels. This THIRD REPEAT of this Flagship Store Exclusive has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with the same lot number L0106 on the back label. The recommended best buy 2006 (***) was last released on September 17, 2016 at $27.95 and before that on August 8, 2015 at $38.00. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / BEST BUY - Cedar, vanilla oak and spicy plum on the nose; full-bodied, dry,savoury plum with pencil lead flavours and ripe tannins. Great balance with a warm alcoholic finish. The LCBO website and website says that only “70 cases made” based on the October 15, 2013 Wine Spectator tasting note quoted.
