Fairly deep red colour. Intense, cedary, plum puree nose with some spicy, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, dense, harmonious, slightly spicy, fairly intense, rich, ripe plum-puree flavours with a lingering, somewhat cedary, spicy, complex, lingering, sandalwood-tinged finish. Tasted twice. This single vineyard blend of approximately 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella and 15% that includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese has 15% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.27-17-A on the front label. The 2008 (***) with 91-points was released on March 4, 2017 at $102.95. This blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese is sourced from a single vineyard and from vines more than 30 years of age. Giuseppe Quintarelli, the Maestro del Veneto, may have passed away on January 15, 2012, but his legacy and influence are still encapsulated in his wines. He was an uncompromising traditionalist known for crafting wines of purity and sophistication, and this ripasso-style wine will be just that. Expect mixed fresh and dried berry with complex cocoa, tar and spice notes. Price $ 111.95
