KÖNIGSCHAFFHAUSER STEINGRÜBLE |
Medium deep ruby red colour. Attractive, spicy, ripe berry-plum-cherry-apple nose with some sandalwood notes. Fairly dry, medium to medium-light bodied, spicy, juicy, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, slightly floral, fairly crisp finish. Ready-to-drink. This straightforward, crowd-pleasing Pinot Noir from Baden has 13% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number APN 030/13/17 on the front label. Screwcap closure. TONY ASPLER / 88-points / TRY - Raspberry and red plum nose with vanilla oak; light-bodied, dry, cranberry and apple flavours. Great with roast chicken. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
This comes from Königschaffhausen, long a trusted name in Baden, Germany's most southerly wine region. Pinot Noir is one of the leading varietals here, where it typically expresses a silky, ripe character. Sourced from a single vineyard planted in volcanic soil, this is from a vintage noted for producing relatively rich wines. You can expect to find a fine mineral tone alongside the well-articulated red fruit and toast notes. Always a good value. |
