CÔTES DE NUITS-VILLAGES 2015 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE MOILLARD
Fairly deep purple red colour. Very slightly spicy, faintly earthy, gently complex, baked plum-cherry nose with some faintly savoury, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, very bright, slightly spicy, ripe red cherry-plum flavours with a lingering, crisp, cranberry-tinged, gentle sandalwood finish. Bright and ready-to-drink, this wide-appeal Côte de Nuits-Villages from the house of Moillard would go well with poultry and salmon, but definitely not bbq ribs. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1 on the lower part of the glass bottle. There are 243 cases and it is now represented in Ontario by Harry Drung at HHD Imports. Better than the recommended 2011 (**/**+) released on October 26, 2013 at $24.95 (cspc 354308).

TASTING NOTE: Founded in 1850, Moillard has sites throughout the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, from Vougeot to Volnay, and more than half of their wines are premier cru. This 2015 was crafted using wines sourced from prime sites and impressed the panel with its elegance. It possesses pitch-perfect balance between its spicy berry fruit, oak and savoury notes. A model of integration and poise. (Vintages panel, April 2017) Price $ 26.95
