CHÂTEAU PUYGUERAUD 2015 AC Côtes de Francs
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Very deep intense purple colour. Solid, spicy, somewhat herbal, plum-cherry nose with some mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, fairly intense, somewhat juicy, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, cedary, fairly complex, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. This very ripe, fleshy, versatile, crowd-pleaser from the tiny Cotes de Francs (just 10 km east of St Emilion) blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Malbec and 5% Malbec has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number LPU1514 310517 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Owner Nicolas Thienpont, a highly respected winemaker, is not only responsible for Puygueraud but also top St-Emilion properties like Berliquet and Larcis Ducasse. Chateau Puygueraud is not new in Vintages- it has previously appeared five times. A total of 297 cases are available. The recommended best buy 2009 (**+) with 89-points was released on August 3, 2013 at $22.85 (cspc 189423). CSPC 966382
