JANARE FIANO 2016 DOP Sannio
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LA GUARDIENSE
Very bright medium straw colour. Slightly spicy, mineral-tinged, gently complex, somewhat nutty, ripe lemon-apple nose which reflects a ripe, Falnghina grape. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, mouthfilling, spicy, ripe lemon-apple flavours with a lingering, gently nutty, fairly high acid finish. Great with seafood or perhaps with poultry. Has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2016L8AD34/424 on the back label. Contrary to the tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue, this is 100% Fiano with no Falanghina. TASTING NOTE: This Fiano is one half of Janare's \"F\" series, the other being the Falanghina (another lesser-known white Italian grape variety that's well worth discovering); accordingly, this sports a stylized letter on the label. The wine itself is crisp and lively, with white grapefruit, lemon zest and mineral in abundance. Chill and sip as an aperitif or pair with seafood. (Vintages panel, May 2017) Price $ 16.95
