CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2016 Lodi
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer IRONSTONE
Deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, cedary, baked cherry-plum-apple nose with lots of clove notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, very juicy, spicy, plum-cherry puree flavours with a faintly sweetish, somewhat cedary, very spicy, clove-driven, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. Although this entry-level, commercial style its has its fans, it is totally not my style of Cabernet Sauvignon. It usually sells for under $10 in the US and the Wine Searcher’s Critics' Score averages 86-points. This one has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. Not up to the riper, higher alcohol 2015 (*+) with 86.5-points released on April 15, 2017 at $17.95. If you love cloves, then this is for you! CSPC 537597
