Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CALITERRA |
Extremely deep purple colour. Slightly spicy, very reedy, plum-cherry nose with some intense cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, cherry-plum flavours with a lingering, peppery, high acid, cedary, herbal, somewhat bitter finish. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number LV17234 (or August 22, 2017) on the back label suggesting that this was not the batch that scored 92-points tasted by James Suckling on May 29, 2017 as quoted in the Vintages Catalogue! So you can safely ignore the tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. The Wine Searcher’s Critics' Score averages 87-points. Not up to the 2013 (*+/**) with 87-points released on March 19, 2016 at $16.95. |
