DOMAINE DES QUINTS |
Bright very pale straw colour. Mineral-tinged, still slightly leesy, ripe apple-lemon nose. Very dry, light bodied, slightly spicy, tangy, apple-lemon flavours with a very crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. Best with oysters. This 100% Chenin Blanc is basically an entry level Saumur that has 12.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 88-points - Spicy, anise and apple bouquet with a oaky note; medium-bodied, dry quince and lemon flavours with a lively acidic finish. A seafood wine. |

TASTING NOTE: \"Domaine des Quints\" may sound like a dwelling for five siblings, but in reality, it's a small organically farmed estate winery. This dry, elegant Chenin Blanc from the lauded Saumur appellation is fresh and floral, with crunchy apple, tropical and citrus fruit and a mineral undertone. Pour the wine with pork chops or rillettes, or sip a glass alongside a fish taco or two (or five). (Vintages panel, May 2017) |
