Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, ripe cherry-plum nose with some cedary, faint mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, dense, harmonious, ripe, bright, slightly spicy, somewhat baked ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, high acid finish. This blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Malbec has a whopping 15% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. A tad better than the 2013 (***) with 90-points released on November 12, 2016 at $69.95. TASTING NOTE: This would be a straightforward Bordeaux red blend if not for the 5% Petite Sirah within. Together, it's 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec as well, sourced from Howell Mountain and valley floor sites.
