RESERVA 2011 DOC Douro
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer QUADRUS
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Complex, intense, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary, faintly earthy finish. Tasted once. Still quite youthful, my only reservation relates to some clove notes on the finish. This well-made blend of 55% Touriga Nacional, 40% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) and 5% Sousão has 14% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BUY - Cedary, spicy plum bouquet; medium to full bodied, a flavour of ripened plums with lively acidity and a firm tannic finish. CSPC 534271
