Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CLOS HENRI
Intense deep red colour with a slightly ambering edge. Spicy, stewed plum and dried black cherry nose with some licorice-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, chewy, tangy, plummy, dried ripe black cherry flavours with some vanilla stick and warm cedary notes on the bright, lingering finish. Has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. The 2005 (**+) was released on February 2, 2008 at $37.85. CSPC 56556

TASTING NOTE: This wine was grown in the clay soils of Marlborough's Southern Valley, which are said to contribute textural smoothness to Pinot Noir. This one shows bright cherry and raspberry fruit backed by vanilla and chocolaty notes, with good ripeness and underlying structure. Pair with beef or lamb medallions in a red wine sauce.
