\"Wildass, with its donkey logo and Wild West typeface, is the casual brand made at Stratus, a high-end winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Stratus winemaker J-L Groux, a native of France's Loire Valley, is a master blender who's crafting mould-breaking cuvées\" (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, Jan. 9, 2013). Wildass Red combines a whack of different red wine grapes each vintage, but it's consistently fruit-forward, bright and savoury with easygoing tannins. Pair with burritos or free-range-beef burgers. |
