Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL |
Bright light yellow colour. Fairly intense, slightly spicy, lemony, yellow plum-pear nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, honeyed, forward, ripe lemon-melon-apricot-apple flavours with a lingering, crisp, unoaked finish. Great for seafood. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number B15151 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / TRY - Minerally, spicy, melon nose; full-bodied, dry, richly extracted, full on the palate with flavours of musk melon and citrus fruits; a well-balanced wine with a long finish. |

TASTING NOTE: Always successful, this blend is based on Marsanne with viognier and a little clairette. Both full- bodied and refreshing, with good acidity and a beautiful wrapped texture. Less austere than usual. Very good value for the price. Score - 90 (Marc Chapleau, winealign.com, March 16, 2017) |
