Bright medium straw colour. Very slightly spicy, ripe lemon-melon-apple puree nose with some slightly toasty notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe lemon-melon-apple puree flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, tangy, somewhat bitter finish. This blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L7A3308LG11/16 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 513895

Once occupied by Cistercian monks from Clairvaux Abbey, this Champagne house includes some magnificent 12th-century vaulted cellars. Drappier was founded in 1808 and, in the 1930s, became the first producer in the village of Urville to plant Pinot Noir - a decision that was mocked at the time, although history has shown that the variety positively thrives there. This bubbly is made from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.
