OREGON PINOT NOIR 2014 Dundee Hills
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE DROUHIN
Medium deep purple red colour. Very slightly spicy, faintly rustic, somewhat peppery, slightly dusty, plum-cherry-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, very slightly spicy, dusty, plum-cherry flavours with a very crisp, crancherry finish along with some gentle peppery and cedar notes. Has 14.1% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Ironically, this esteemed hot large crop vintage does not seem up to the cooler wetter 2013 (***) released on August 20, 2016 at $52.95. TONY ASPLER / 91-points - Minerally, black raspberry nose with a floral note; medium-bodied, dry, firmly structured with raspberry and red plum flavour; great length with pliant but discernible tannins. (Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2016) TASTING NOTE: There's a focus and precision to this pinot with refined tannins and beautiful fruit.
