MONASTRELL 2016 DOP Jumilla
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HONORO VERA
Deep red colour. Slightly spicy, harmonious, juicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedar notes. Sweetish, medium-light bodied, lightly spicy, smooth, soft, juicy, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a fairly crisp, tropical fruit cocktail-tinged finish. Ready-to-drink and lacks acidity - too sweet for me. Has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L017/13 on the back label. CSPC 167684

The Gil family has been making wine for 100 years spanning four generations. This wine is made with Monastrell grapes grown in dry limestone vineyards, resulting in big aromatic intensity and flavour concentration. Look for notes of underbrush, blueberry and spice. The producer suggests pairings of grilled or stewed meats, or soft-to-medium cheeses. (Vintages panel) Price $ 13.95
