Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CRASTO
Slightly spicy, attractive, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe cherry-plum puree flavours with a lingering, high acid, slightly cedary, faintly mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. The Quinta do Crasto is situated on a lovely site on the north side of the Douro River. This appealing blend of 35% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz and 25% Touriga Franca has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L10C16 on the back label. TASTING NOTE: Quinta do Crasto has been owned and operated by the Roquette family for more than 100 years. The legacy of fine winemaking is hard to miss in this 2015 beauty. Smoky dark fruit and underbrush on the nose with evocative herbal and tea leaf tones. Firm and long with ripe black fruit dominant on palate. Try this with a lamb stew, or smoked ribs.
