Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CLOUDY BAY |
Deep fairly dense purple colour. Intense, spicy, quite harmonious, bright, ripe baked cherry-plum puree nose with some slightly smoky, faintly reductive, mocha-chocolate-cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, fairly intense, rather complex, plum-cherry-cranberry flavours with a lingering, spicy, tangy, cedar-tinged finish that shows some mercaptan rubber-hose notes. Tasted twice. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20042B009 on the back label. Not up to the 2014 (***) released on December 10, 2016 at $45.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir has pretty violet, red cherry and warm raspberry scents with a hint of cinnamon and dusty earth. Soft, elegant and medium-bodied, it gives lovely purity and a more understated expression. Drink Date: 2016-2021. Score - 90 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016) |
