TASTING NOTE: This is primarily Sangiovese (80%) with equal measures of Colorino and Pugnitello. Expressive and characterful with cherry, tobacco, tomato leaf, spice, and rich dark fruit. This is a textured and classically styled wine from a popular producer, and quite a flexible performer at the dinner table. Try with roast turkey, or with a lamb stew. (Vintages panel, June 2017) |
