BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2012 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LA COLOMBINA |
Fairly deep purple red colour with an ambering edge. Very attractive, slightly spicy, ripe, plummy, cedar-tinged, ripe cherry nose showing some complexity and a touch of warm earthiness. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, bright, slightly spicy, intense, ripe plum-red-cherry-raspberry flavours with a fairly crisp, lingering, sandalwood-tinged finish. Seems quite accessible. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L06/16 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / 90-points - Mature ruby in colour; cedary, spicy, red plum nose; medium to full-bodied, elegant, dry, lovely mouth-feel with a sour cherry flavour. Needs time. |

TASTING NOTE: This red combines power and elegance, with bright acidity and dense tannins. Cherry and plum fruit are accented by leather, tobacco and mineral as this glides to a lingering conclusion. Shows fine balance, with a tealike finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. Score - 94 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 15, 2017) |
