Producer |
JERZU MARGHIA |
Deep purple colour. Spicy, very bright, fairly juicy, ripe plum-apple-cherry puree nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite juicy, attractive, ripe juicy plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid finish. A ready-to-drink, fruit driven, crowd-pleaser. This very tasty Sardinian 100% Cannonau was vinified and aged in stainless steel for one year. It has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L1720510 on the capsule. |

TASTING NOTE: 100% Cannonau from subzone Jerzu, 20-year-old vines grown on limestone and schist. 350 m above sea level. Vinified and aged in stainless steel for one year, six months in bottle. Fairly transparent crimson. Real freshness on the nose and palate - vibrant red fruit only just moving into warmer stewed fruit towards the finish. Caraway spice. Lovely dry, clean purity with good clarity and definition of acidity and tannins. Quite persistent. Drink: 2016-2018. Score - 16.5 (out of 20) (Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Oct. 20, 2016) |
