BARBARESCO 2013 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MARCHESI DI BAROLO |
Slightly ambering bright medium deep red colour. Slightly spicy, fairly intense, warm plum nose with some slightly complex, sandalwood-licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, tangy, slightly spicy, fairly intense, plum-cherry flavours with a rather crisp, sandalwood-tinged finish. This traditional producer has hit the mark with this new 2013 release which has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2537 on the capsule. By far the best in quite some time! TONY ASPLER / 91-points / BEST BUY - Mature ruby colour; cedary, dried cherry bouquet; medium-bodied, dry, fresh, sour cherry flavour with a firm tannic finish. |

TASTING NOTE: The purity of fruit is beautiful in this with ripe strawberry and cherry aromas. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Lovely fruit and acid balance. Gives it precision and life! Drink or hold. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 21, 2016) |
