CHÂTEAU PIERRE DE MONTIGNAC 2009 Cru Bourgeois, AP Médoc
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Very deep intense purple colour. Lovely, fairly intense, slightly spicy, maturing, warm ripe plum nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. This now very attractive, ready-to-drink blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L16/10/17 on the back label. Tasted twice. This fourth REPEAT is better than the recommended 2009 (**/**+) released on December 12, 2015 at $23.95. CSPC 437954

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: An attractive, pleasantly maturing, ripe, fruity-earthy Médoc here, with full but supple tannins and terrific length and complexity overall. Fine value for fans of classic Bordeaux, albeit more merlot driven it appears than typical for the Médoc. Score - 90. (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, Dec. 3, 2015)
