RED BLEND 2013 Rapel Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LAPOSTOLLE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Youthful, classy, fairly intense, ripe plum-cherry nose with some slight cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite dense, slightly spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary finish. This terrific Rapel Valley wild yeast fermented blend of 30% Syrah, 25% Carmenère, 23% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number LC130717 L5022 7144 on the back label. Tasted twice - a remarkable value so don’t miss it! |

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of tar, licorice and black currants. Full body, firm tannins and a long and fresh finish. A tight and well-structured young red. Excellent wine for the money. Better in 2018. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 7, 2015) |
