A co-fermented blend of 58% Syrah and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Athene was hand-harvested from the Black Sage Bench A8 block on November 4, 2014. It was then aged for 18 months in oak - 71% French, 23% American and 6% Hungarian - of which 17% was new. You can expect the final wine to be a richly structured, powerful wine with impressive cassis, black fruit and woodsmoke. |
