TASTING NOTE: Deep bright ruby. Pungent aromas of blackberry, cassis, violet and licorice, plus a suggestion of crushed rock. Juicy and fine-grained, with a slightly green quality keeping the wine under wraps today. Finishes with a strong but fine dusting of tannins and repeating minerality. This wine is still a bit clenched and green and needs time to unwind. But does it have the depth to repay patience? Drinking window: 2019-2023. Score - 89 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, July 2017) |
