CÔTES DE LECHET CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2003 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE DANIEL-ÉTIENNE DEFAIX
Maturing bright deep yellow colour. Intense, complex, toasty, mineral-tinged, baked ripe lemon meringue nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, dense, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, high acid, fairly toasty, gently complex, hazelnut-mineral-tinged finish. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with the same lot number L03CDL on the lower part of the glass bottle. A REPEAT of the recommended 2003 (***) with 91-points released on November 26, 2016 at $51.95. It’s a great Chablis which is worthy of the price and will really shine in a Riedel Vinum Chardonnay/Montrachet wine glass. CSPC 470435

TASTING NOTE: A weird and wonderful Chablis offering rarely seen maturity in a current release. An abundance of character is offered with compelling a compelling breadth off flavours. Notes of honey and wax are notable but don't dominate. Fruit and a light nutty, almond element are the most overt flavours on the palate. Immensely complex and revealing enhanced by tertiary flavours (developed in bottle). All components nicely meshed resulting in a harmony of flavours. Intriguing, evolved to near perfection. Ready to drink now. A contemplative find that is dinner party ready. Highly memorable with exceptional length. Perspective changing.
