FOREIGN AFFAIR |
Bright medium straw colour. Very sweaty, complex, intense, slightly spicy, mineral-driven, apple-lemon nose. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, lemon-apple meringue flavours with a lingering, high acid, crisp, gently grassy, faintly bitter finish. A distinctive style - not for everyone. Has 13.9% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
TASTING NOTE: Intense, with suggestions of grass, fresh herbs, pea pod, apple, citrus and a touch of tropical fruit. Nice, big mouthfeel. The producer suggests pairing it with cedar-plank salmon, trout fillets, roast chicken or steamed mussels. It'll also go nicely with autumn squash and buttery peas. (Vintages panel, March 2017) |
